The Zanzibar archipelago is set in the Indian Ocean and made up of the larger islands of Pemba and Unguja (also called Zanzibar Island). Zanzibar is an island steeped in culture and history – a destination which brought adventurers, seafarers and traders from far and wide.

You cannot miss stone town tour during your stay on Zanzibar Island is. Stone town is a beautiful city is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Stone town is characterized by spices on colorful markets, but also an urban spread of historic buildings, shops, offices, apartment blocks, crowded slums and middle-class neighborhoods. In the historic quarter you can roam for hours through a network of narrow streets, easily losing yourself in centuries of history. Each twist and turn brings something new – a former palace, a Persian bathhouse, a tumbledown ruin, a coral-stone mansion with carved doors and latticework balconies, or a school full of children chanting verses from the Quran. Your hotel can organize a historic tour / spice tour for you but everything is within walking distance so if you prefer, you could explore on your own.
