Established in 2005 with the surface area of 1100km2. Saadani National Park is the only coastal wildlife sanctuary comprising various types of environment from savanna like conditions to seashore.
Southern part of the park lies river wami which acts as a boundary and a source of fresh water for both flora and fauna species in the park.
Saadani national park is also home to the last remaining lowland coastal forest known as Zaraninge
The park ecosystem plays a vital role in supporting various wildlife from large mammals to wide array of birdlife ranging from common, exotic to rare birds
